The drive through the Braldu Gorge is guaranteed to knock your socks off! We will have lunch on the way, dinner will be in the camp, overnight in tents.
Accommodation: Camp
We start on a relatively easy trail for 3 – 4 hours crossing Burdumal campsites along a 2 km stretched sandy river beach. After lunch continue towards Paju for another 2 – 3 hours trek. The trail climbs to a vantage point providing a view of the Snout of Baltoro. In the far distance you can see a magnificent panorama of the Cathedral Towers, Paju can be a crowded campsite. Overnight in camp.
Accommodation: Camp
Rest day at Paju for local exploration. Enjoy the traditional music program and dancing by the local porters and other staff of the trekking teams. Overnight in camp.
Accommodation: Camp
Start trek for 5 – 8 hours. Gradual climb of Baltoro Glacier on the Southern edge. After about 2 hours the path divides at the snout of Baltoro Glacier where the left branch goes to the Base camp of Trango Towers and the Serpo Liligo Pass. Continue to the right climbing up on to the glacier that stretches up the valley 62 km long and 2 km wide. Further 2 – 3 hours steady climb on a long diagonal to the other side. Follow the southern edge to Liliwa and onward to Khuburse – a lovely walk for about 90 min. to the campsite with clear water. Overnight at camp.
Accommodation: Camp
4 -5 hours walking, mostly along the crest of lateral moraine with stunning views of Paju Peak, Chorichi Biaho, Trango Tower and so on. Urdukas is a spectacular campsite. Overnight in tent.
Accommodation: Camp
6 – 8 hours walking on glacier. The first hour of our walk is across difficult terrain with many crevasses; however the way is smoother and easier in the middle. Continue 2 – 3 hours to Ghoro I opposite of Yermanendo Glacier, falling down from the Masherbrum Pass. For the next 3 – 4 hours continue east up the Baltoro Glacier following the telephone wire from Army HQ Ghoro to Gasherbrum IV. Ghoro II campsite is pitched on the rocks and ice in the centre of the glacier with water from the glacier melt. Overnight in tent.
Accommodation: Camp
5 – 6 hours of relatively easy walking with spectacular views and gigantic mountain panorama, including Mustagata Tower, G IV, Matha Peak and the mighty K2. Camp at Concordia named by Martin Conway after the place Dela Concordia in Paris. Overnight in tent.
Accommodation: Camp
When we leave Concordia we first have to go through a more difficult part where two different glaciers (the Baltoro and Godwin-Austen glaciers) meet, then it is about 3 hours fairly easy walk over the Godwin-Austen glacier to the base camp of Broad Peak. From the base camp you have an even more spectacular view of the K2 than from Concordia, we set up camp here, the rest of the day the group can take it easy and maybe get something from the different expedition groups.
Accommodation: Camp
We leave early towards K2 base camp, about 3 hours walk, on arrival we visit the Gilkey memorial where deceased climbers are commemorated. In June and July there are many expeditions to the K2, the base camp will therefore be very lively and during the visit the group may get a bit of the "expedition atmosphere". After lunch we walk over the Godwin-Austen Glacier the same way back to Concordia (about 5 – 6 hours walk).
Accommodation: Camp
Today we leave Concordia for a relatively easy trek along the Upper Baltoro Glacier and Abruzzi Glacier to Gasherbrum I & II Base Camp (5,156m). Here we will be able to see several majestic peaks like Gasherbrum I (8,080m), Gasherbrum II (8,035m), Chogolisa (7,668m), Baltoro Kangri (7,300m) and Snow Dome (7,150m). We will also have wonderful views of Conway Saddle (6,113) and Kaberi Saddle (6,400m). Today’s trek will take approximately 6-7 hours, and we will reach Gasherbrum I & II Base Camp by early afternoon. We'll camp and soak up the glorious views of this lesser visited area.
Accommodation: Camp
If all is going well with the trek team and the weather then we now trek back along the Upper Baltoro glacier and then teke a left turn to the south and the Vigne Glacier, which is much flatter with less cravasses. We will have some spectacular views of K2, Broad Peak, Gasherbrum IV, Chogolisa and Mitre Peak during the trek. We'll reach our destination at Ali Camp, which is just below the Gondogoro La pass in the mid afternoon. We'll have an early dinner and get some much needed rest for the day ahead, as we need to start really early.
Accommodation: Camp
4 - 5 hours, we start very early in the morning for the strenuous and steep ascend to Gondogoro La (high pass), then another 3 – 4 hours descend to the high camp (Khuspang) on the other side. Also BC for Gondogoro Peak. Overnight in tent.
Accommodation: Camp
We can make this a reserve day, which means we can skip this part if required.
From Khuspang to Saicho. 4 – 5 hours easy descend of glacier Moraine to beautiful campsite of Dalzampa “field of flowers”. A climb to the lateral Moraine provides spectacular views of the glacier and jagged spires. Overnight in tent.
Accommodation: Camp
Another 4 – 5 hours walk on the lateral moraine through wild roses, gooseberry cedar and Tamarisk bushes. The Charakusa valley joins the Gondogoro at Shaicho and the route leads towards the base camp of K6 and K7. Overnight in tent.
Accommodation: Camp
This is the last day of the trek, for 4 – 5 hours we follow the east bank of the Hushe River on an easy path through the fields before reaching the village. From here we will say goodbye to the trekking staff and switch to jeeps for our drive to Skardu. If time allows it we will make a short stop at Khaplu, the second largest kingdom of old Baltistan guarding the trade route to Ladakh along the Shyok River. Overnight at hotel in Skardu.
Accommodation: Hotel
We depart our hotel and travel in a private air-conditioned along the Karakoram Highway to Raikot Bridge. Our journey follows the famous Indus River which has carved deep gorges due it's sheer power. In the distance we'll have views of Nanga Parbat (8,126m) and Rakaposhi (7,788m). Once over the bridge we drive to Chilas which in total takes around 7-8 hours.
